Trials were held at Queen Ethelburgas College and West Park Leeds in February and were run by Yorkshire Carnegie. The trials attracted over 500 players at U13's and U14's age groups from all over the Yorkshire region and both Kyle & Jack received confirmation that they had been successful and had gained entry to the ERDPP.

The England Rugby Development Player Programme is delivered by county based coaches with support from Yorkshire Carnegie. The players who are part of the ERDPP train together once a month to develop their core skills, along with tactical appreciation of the game. Players also receive an education on fitness, lifestyle and mental components, all aimed to assist them in reaching the highest levels of performance.
